The podcasts “the Provisional” offer a new perspective on crisis preparation by illustrating the role of improvisation and provisional solutions as problem solving mechanisms in extraordinary, but also everyday situations. Outlined and described examples from film and the visual arts are used to describe the motto “This is how we will tackle the problem for now!” and “Necessity is the mother of invention” and relates this to other creative/artistic processes.
